Overview
We are recruiting across the following departments:
The Strategic Finance team works across DIT to understand delivery plans and the associated funding requirements, providing expert financial advice, analysis and assurance to Ministers, Executive Boards and budget holders.
It is made up of two main teams:

The Strategic Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting team work across DIT to develop a deep understanding of the financial position across the department in current and future years. Working alongside Finance Business Partners, the team co-ordinates the financial planning required for the Spending Review and in-year financial management, as well as producing high quality financial reports and analysis.

The Finance Business Partners work closely with department teams and Senior Civil Servants in DIT to provide financial information, advice, challenge and assurance to enable effective decision making. They champion a ‘value for money’ culture and embed a robust financial planning management and control regime through the department.
Strategic Projects, Assurance & Capability view more
As part of the increased capacity being invested in the DIT Finance Function, and DIT’s Financial Transformation programme, the Strategic Projects, Assurance and Capability team has been created to build additional capability within and beyond the Finance Function in variety of areas. This includes a new Financial Capability team to focus on developing financial capability across the department, the creation of a new Continuous Improvement function to drive change in our systems and processes, a new Finance Strategic Projects team to increase analytical and modelling capability and provide more capacity for Finance to drive DIT projects and change, as well as right now. The team’s agenda also reaches into maturing DIT’s approach to Governance, Risk and Compliance, including counter fraud and how we strength our culture of financial rigour.
Financial Accounting & Control view more
There are two main teams within Financial Accounting and Control:

The Business Support Centre of Excellence (BSCE) team centralises financial processes, transactions and business support services to help deliver high quality financial processes across DIT. The team provide financial and process support for teams across DIT to help manage and deliver DIT’s budget.

The Financial Accounts team also lead on the production of DIT’s financial accounts, DIT’s relationship with the National Audit Office (NAO) and advise DIT’s Financial Controller on the department’s delivery within its Control Totals. The team are also critical in embedding high quality financial accounting controls practices and processes in DIT, within and beyond the Finance team.
Finance Transformation view more
The Transformation team has been created to deliver DIT’s ambitious two-year Transformation Programme to improve financial management right across the department. This Programme is divided into three workstreams: Organisation Design and Change; Data and Systems; and Policy and Processes. Each workstream will have a dedicated Grade 7 lead, supported by an SEO project manager. The team will be vital in driving the success of the transformation programme and determining how the department operates in years to come.
