Pieter

Pieter is the Senior Finance Business Partner for the Global Trade & Investment group. He joined DIT in 2018 for the chance to work in a department with a varied and growing portfolio and the opportunity to shape the future of the finance function. He leads a team that works with the business to effectively manage their budgets, supporting senior stakeholders with clear financial advice and analysis in order to enable strategic decision-making. He trained as a chartered accountant in the private sector before joining the Civil Service. He believes that these roles offer ‘the opportunity to have a significant impact in DIT’s future Finance Transformation, working as part of a large team that supports the wider department in delivering its priorities’.

Rudmila

Rudmila joined DIT four months ago as the Lead Commercial Finance Specialist. Rudmila’s role involves leading and directing all aspects of contract finance and the department’s commercial finance initiatives. Rudmila is enjoying her role, which was newly created as part of the finance team’s transformation plan. It offers her ‘the opportunity to shape DIT’s commercial finance capabilities in a position that has significant scope for cross government liaison.’ Rudmila has been a Civil Servant since 2017 having previously worked for the US Department of State in London. She was attracted to DIT due to its reputation for being a supportive place to work and the opportunities that a growing finance team offers.

Megan

Megan joined DIT in 2018 working in strategic finance. Her role covers planning, analysis and reporting, working closely with Ministers and seniors across the Department and with HM Treasury. Megan moved to the Civil Service having spent five years working in finance in Local Government. She was attracted to the wide range of opportunities and variety of challenges that working in the Civil Service offers. For Megan, ‘this is an exciting time to be working in government. These roles present a wide range of opportunities to support a department that is at the heart of the government agenda.’

Henry

Henry joined DIT from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) in June 2019 as a Grade 7 Senior Financial Accountant within the Corporate Services Group. His role encompasses working closely with various different stakeholders in the department to offer financial advice on a variety of matters. He is currently focusing on establishing robust financial accounting controls within DIT which in turn will deliver complete and consistent information through the production of the annual report and accounts with a single version of the truth.

 

Henry began his finance career within Local Government and became CIMA qualified in 2013 while working at the Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) a Non Departmental Public Body (NDPB). He was attracted to the variety of opportunities within the Civil Service and wanted to be working at the centre of government. Henry says 'working at DIT is enjoyable, challenging and rewarding but most notably is that staff have been very welcoming with a sincere approach to get you settled in well'.
