Why we’re recruiting for this role
We are looking for a Head of Finance Business Partnering to work with our different business departments, providing financial information, tools, analysis and insight to executives, challenging their thinking, helping them make more informed decisions and driving business strategy. The role will provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making and lead the Finance Business Partnering function.
This is a newly created role that comes at an exciting time for the charity and it offers the perfect opportunity for an ambitious and proactive individual who is looking to shape their finance career, develop their line management skills and put their own stamp on this role.
Finance business partners are an important bridge between the Finance function, management and other areas of the business. They deliver financial information, tools, analysis and insight to executives across the business that equips them with the information they need to make informed decisions that align with company objectives. The Finance Business Partner role is important in providing the insight that allows managers to challenge, coach and motivate their teams.

What you’ll be doing

Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies

Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance

Providing effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered

Building partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams and providing financial support to commercial decision making

Delivering analysis and insight on business opportunities; providing options and scenarios for business decisions

Conducting market research studies and analysis to assess current market trends

Presenting financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk

Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible

Assisting with year-end audit

Dealing with and working through issues of conflict and operational challenges with project teams and other stakeholders

Understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to the non-finance members

Leading a small team and working closely with the Financial Controller

Other duties as requested by the line manager
What qualifications we’d expect you to have
This role requires a qualified accountant with a CCAB recognised qualification (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and experience of business partnering at a senior level.

Strong financial modelling and Excel skills

Highly IT literate, comfortable operating and learning new systems

Previous experience of working in a Business Partnering environment

Previous experience of leading a high-performing team

Experience of dealing with senior managers both financial and non-financial

Experience of explaining financial concepts to non-financial staff

Experience of bringing financial information together with non-financial information

Experience of working in a complex financial environment with various income streams and volatity of costs across a number of business units

Details of the role

This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week.

It will be offered as a Permanent contract

Occasional travel may be required as we have staff based across the UK
-
Occasional overnight stays away from home.

Occasional attendance at meetings and events during evenings and weekends.

We are currently operating a hybrid working environment with a mixture of office and homeworking in line with government pandemic requirements.
