Welcome

Dear Candidate

Thank you for your interest in the role of Finance Director at Terrence Higgins Trust.

In 1982 Terry Higgins died – one of the first people known to have died from an HIV related illness in the UK.  His partner and friends could not stand idly by as other became ill and so they founded the Terrence Higgins Trust in his memory.  Almost forty years later the charity remains at the forefront of the UKs response to the HIV epidemic and in promoting good sexual health for all.

Now is a great time to be joining the team here at Terrence Higgins Trust, with the real prospect of ending new HIV transmissions in the next decade.  Our mission remains ending HIV transmissions, supporting people to live well with HIV and to ensure that good sexual health is a right for everyone.

If you are inspired by this mission then we would love to hear from you. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step up to their first Finance Director position.

As an equal opportunities employer, we particularly welcome applications from people who identify as women, and/or as a person of colour as we continue to work to increase both our diversity and inclusivity at all levels of the charity. All appointments will be made on merit of skill and experience relative to the role.

As Finance Director you will be leading a team, overseeing the financial health of the organisation, providing expert advice to me and to the Board of Trustees.  As well as being an excellent finance professional you should also be a collaborator who is excited about the prospects of joining an amazing and passionate senior team who are all committed to the charity’s mission.

Despite COVID-19, the charity is in a good shape, with a strong balance sheet and a good level of reserves.

I hope that this pack is of interest to you and I look forward to receiving you application.

Ian Green

Chief Executive
