Our Mission
Our mission is to continue to make a national and global contribution to cancer research and treatment, so that more people are cured and quality of life is improved for those living with cancer.
Our Values
Our values were developed following extensive consultation with patients and a mix of clinical and non-clinical staff from a variety of seniority levels across The Royal Marsden. All of our staff – independent of their level of seniority or role – embodies these values in their everyday work, helping make The Royal Marsden a world-renowned centre of excellence.

RM Digital Services
Deliver digital transformation
RMDS has over 90 members of staff that drive forward the trusts digital transformation agenda which has attracted over 90 million pounds of investment. These projects include mobile device management, fabric networks, high performance compute, artificial intelligence, unified communications and our flagship connect digital health record programme.
Provide desktop equipment & support
We provide desktop support to over 4500 end user devices across four sites and 5500 users for 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support. Our support teams all based both on premise and at home using cloud based telephony in order to provide a call centre service.
Implement innovative digital projects & programmes
The programme management office run over 30 marque projects and programmes. Our programme and project managers work closely with RMDS trainers, change managers and business analysts to delivery ground breaking medical and technical projects that support the delivery of clinical services to patients as well as world-leading cancer research.
Deploy and maintain on premise, and hybrid cloud compute and storage
Our team manages over 600 servers both on-premise and in the cloud, using the latest monitoring and performance software. Using InTune and SCCM technology, the team is able to manage desktop and mobile devices easily and effectively.
Develop bespoke applications
Using a combination of AGILE and waterfall methodologies, coupled with Microsoft software development tools, integration engines and low-code platforms, the development team deliver bespoke applications; and our test team is responsible for ensuring they perform to the highest clinical standards.
