About Us

Barnet Council strives to be one of the best boroughs in London with residents having an 85% satisfaction in the place and satisfaction with the council remaining over 65% during a period of austerity. They have some of the best schools with over 95% rated as good or outstanding, over 200 parks and a commitment to improving air quality by planting trees and rolling out electric charging points.

Their diverse communities and active voluntary sector are celebrated and they are building housing and facilities that will benefit the whole borough. Barnet delivers services in house, through partnerships with other public bodies and private sector partners.

If you want to have an impact on the lives of numerous local residents and work for an organisation with ambitious plans, a focus on growing and supporting their staff and a flexible environment then Barnet is the place for you.

Barnet 2024

The Council’s Corporate Plan for 2019-2024 sets our vision and strategy for the next 5 years.

This includes outcomes we want to achieve for the borough, the priorities we will focus limited resources on, and our approach for how we will deliver these.

Our 3 outcomes for the borough focus on place, people and communities:

  • a pleasant, well maintained borough that we protect and invest in

  • our residents live happy, healthy, independent lives with the most vulnerable protected

  • safe and strong communities where people get along well
