MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION

This is an exciting moment to join the Roundhouse as it evolves to deliver its ambitious five-year plan. The role is a diverse one offering exposure to a wide range of activity and an opportunity to really make a difference. 

​

Working closely with the Finance & Business Planning Director and the other members of the Executive team you will drive insightful financial analysis, develop processes and ways of working, oversee the control of our financial resources and help to develop the financial acumen across the organisation. 

​

You will join the Senior Management Team, taking responsibility for leading and developing the Finance Team and supporting the wider organisation with their short and long term goals.

​

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management

  • Provide leadership and development to the Finance team

  • Engage with Directors, Department Heads and Budget holders, supporting them to make effective business decisions

​

Process Transformation

  • Continuously support the development of all financial processes including overseeing the implementation of new systems and improved ways of working

​

Business Planning and Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts and Reforecasts including commentaries, cash flow forecasts and balance sheet statements.

  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget and financial elements of the longer term business plan.

  • Working with the Finance & Business Planning Director to establish a robust business planning environment including:

  • Development of a business planning timetable and managing the key inputs/outputs from this

  • The development of agreed cross-organisational KPIs and a linked executive dashboard

Financial Control, Statutory Reporting & Treasury Management

  • Take responsibility for the Roundhouse’s Financial Control Environment including overseeing the reconciliations of the full range of balance sheet accounts e.g. fixed assets, intercompany, debtors, creditors, deferred income, restricted and unrestricted income on a monthly basis.

  • Lead the preparation of the annual statutory accounts including the management of the annual audit.

  • Be the single point of contact for the Roundhouse’s bankers; responsibility for maximising interest income on all bank cash balances.

Finance System Maintenance

  • Supervise the maintenance and training around the main accounting system (Exchequer) and all other related Finance systems.

​

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Excellent people management skills and proven experience of developing and managing of high performing teams

  • Track record of improving processes and systems development

  • Excellent communication and written skills

  • In depth experience in preparing insightful management accounts/business information that supports effective business decision making

  • Good IT/system skills

  • Enthusiasm for what the Roundhouse stands for and its long terms goals

  • Relevant accounting qualification

CONDITIONS

Contract         

Full-time Permanent

Hours     

40 hours per week.

​

Annual Leave   

25 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays

​

Notice Period

4 months
