Welcome

Dear Candidate

Thank you for your interest in applying for a role in the 7 Force Procurement team. This is an exciting time to be in procurement within the Eastern counties as the Forces recognise the benefits of collaboration and a commercial approach to procurement.

Our new team became operational at the start of 2020 so you will join us at the start of our journey.  Our vision is “To enable the delivery of effective and efficient police services and provide support for victims in the eastern region by procuring and managing high quality, value for money contracts.”  To achieve this we need the right calibre of staff.  We have a vital role to play in ensuring that we deliver value for money and savings so that resources are focussed on frontline policing and victim support.  This can only be achieved b taking a more commercial approach to procurement – yes, we need to ensure we run compliant processes, but we need people who can recognise and identify opportunities for our customers to benefit from innovation/trends in the market and apply that to how we procure.

Our focus going forward will be on early engagement with our internal stakeholders to develop category strategies and plans, market development and contract management/supplier relationship management.

No matter which role you apply for your ideas, enthusiasm and experience will be essential in shaping the success of the function.  In return we offer agile working arrangements, including flexibility over your base location (with the exception of the Local Business/Commissioning Partner role which must be based in Norfolk or Suffolk), and a comprehensive training and development package designed around you so that you can fulfil your potential.

Please take time to read the 7 Force Procurement Strategy and the job descriptions carefully and, if you feel these roles are for you, I look forward to your application.
