Introduction to RBKC

Homepage > Introduction

Our financial management services support the whole Council work to the best of its ability. Our priority over the next two years is to continue to embed and strengthen our financial management function, so we can support the Council to deliver its service transformation; deliver on residents’ priorities as set out in our Council Plan; and address the wider financial challenges facing local government.

Our Financial Management department, led by Director of Financial Management Taryn Eves has undergone some major changes. It has moved from a devolved to a centralised finance function.  This has included the implementation of a new finance system and many finance functions being brought back in house. We now want to embed a business partnering way of working to ensure finance is an integral part of the Council’s decision making – so our support and expertise is recognised, and we are adding value.

COVID-19 has brought new challenges but the Council is well placed to respond and these roles will play a key role in helping to ensure the Council continues to maintain its strong financial position.

As a result, we are now able to offer some exciting new vacancies. The role being advertised will be part of the Council’s Financial Management Department, which sits within the Resources Directorate.

So, if you would like the opportunity to be part of a Council that is changing, a finance department that is changing and most importantly play a key role in shaping the changes. we would really like to have you as part of the team here at Kensington and Chelsea.
