Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, we are so glad you are considering us.

Today, we have the largest youth population in history, at a time when we face some of the most pressing global challenges seen in generations. Young people all around the world are stepping up to play their part to help and our role is to get behind them and encourage others to join in.

What we do is simple – we champion, fund and connect young leaders who are working hard to change the world. We share their stories, give them a platform to amplify their ideas, and inspire others to join in along the way. We launched to the public in April 2018 and our first year has been successful in terms of our work with young people, our fundraising and proposition development. We have high hopes that 2019 will be even better. The signs are good, with young people, donors and supporters alike coming on board, keen to work with us. But there is much to do and the pace needs to pick up in 2019.

Our London based team is small, friendly and working hard to bring our offer to life. Our Finance Director has worked with us part-time on an interim basis to get the organisation’s foundations in place. He has done such a great job that the organisation is now ready for a full time COO to help us take the organisation forward. The new COO will join us at a particularly exciting time. We need to engage young people at all levels of our work, diversify our income streams, build new content across our platforms, understand our impact and get our name better known.

The COO will play a crucial role, responsible for running the business while helping drive the development and implementation of our strategy with the team. We want the organisation to remain lean, agile and responsive to young people’s needs while giving all colleagues the best experience of their working lives.

Ours is a digital-first approach and we are building a culture that seeks and values everyone’s ideas, welcomes feedback and fosters collaboration across our Board, management team, advisors and the young people we work alongside. Together we will bring about change locally and, in time, globally. We hope that our style will help inform wider systemic change in the way young leaders are seen, funded and included in decision-making.
If you like what you see, and if you think you would fit right in, please apply. For now, check out www.queenscommonwealthtrust.org and learn more about our story so far.

Many thanks and very best of luck,

Team QCT
