How to Apply

All applications should be sent MOD@allenlane.co.uk

All applications should be addressed to Tim Salmon.

The assessment process will take the format of sift based on your supporting statement and CV (max. 4 pages), as well as an interview based on the experiences and the behaviours set out in this advert. There may be additional assessment activities for particular roles in order to best test candidate fit. The Civil Service recruits using a framework called Success Profiles. This means for each role we advertise, we consider what you will need to demonstrate in order to be successful. All finance job descriptions set out the experience we are looking for candidates to demonstrate in their applications, and the behaviours we will be tested at interview stage. Certain roles also require you to be part- or fully-finance qualified; this is listed under the ‘Technical’ section. Your qualification history should be set out as part of your written application.

The list of behaviours and what they mean at each grade is provided here.

In order to apply for these posts please submit:

  • Your CV (max. 4 pages) in Word format not PDF;

  • A personal statement in Word format not PDF, limited to no more than two sides of A4, first stating your motivations to apply and then describing how you meet the role specific requirements given your skills and experience.

  • You should clearly articulate your understanding of the role of a business partner, and outline your previous experience of working as a financial professional; how you have built relationships and provided strategic insight to inform decision making.

  • A completed Diversity Monitoring Form (PLEASE DOWNLOAD HERE). If you do not wish to provide a declaration on any of the particular characteristics, you will have the option to select ‘prefer not to say’. The information you provide when submitting your application will help us monitor our progress towards the Civil Service becoming the most inclusive employer by 2020. See the Civil Service Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for more information.

If invited to interview you will assessed on your experience, technical skills as well as the behaviours in the success profiles framework based on the job description.

A reserve list may be held for a period of up to 12 months from which further appointments may be made for candidates who met the pass mark at interview but were not offered a role.
