About us

Dear Candidate,

I am delighted that you are interested in the Head of Finance: Adult Social Care and Health role with East Sussex County Council.

As a strategic Business Partner, you will work with, and support, the Adult Social Care and Health senior management team by providing financial advice, information and insight, as they manage their £340m gross budget (£233m net) to deliver services to the residents of East Sussex. As a member of my Finance Management Team, you will contribute, and bring your experience, to the continuous improvement in services that the Finance Service’s various teams provide and the ongoing development of our team members.

There are financial challenges ahead for local government and Adult Social Care and we are looking for innovative thinking  and expertise, together with the ability to engage with and influence our customers, partners and stakeholders, to enable us to tackle these challenges head on.

If you can make a difference and impact, then East Sussex provides a welcoming and supportive place to work and further your career. With excellent transport links from London, and only 15 minutes from Brighton, together with the natural landscape of the South Downs National Park and English Channel coastline, it’s a great place to work, explore and relax.

I look forward to meeting you in the coming the weeks.

Best regards

Ian Gutsell
