The BEIS Financial Reporting & Control function are looking for an exceptional finance professional with the necessary experience, skills and personal qualities for Senior Executive Officer (SEO) Treasury Manager and Banking Officer within the Treasury and Parliamentary Reporting team. This is an important role within the finance function requiring the ability to gain credibility, providing cash management advice, Government Banking Service (GBS) account management, and is an excellent opportunity to play an important and active part in the strategic direction of BEIS. We will provide you with the opportunity for an interesting and worthwhile career and support you with training and development.

The post holder will partner and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, acting as the focal point of the treasury and banking team, gathering cash flow data, managing changes to forecasts and helping to resolve urgent cash requirements with HM Treasury, in order that BEIS remains within the top 3 departments for forecasting monthly cash and daily BACS requirements.

 


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with teams across the BEIS Group around the timing of their large payments and receipts

  • Liaising with BEIS’s shared services provider (UKSBS) over daily payment runs and critical, emergency and foreign payments, and the monthly departmental cashflow forecast to HM Treasury

  • Forecasting and monitoring receipts and refunds/repayments for Consolidated Fund Extra Receipts income streams

  • Liaison with the Government Banking Service and HMT cash management team

  • Working with BEIS partner organisations on cash and banking issues

  • Additional tasks supporting the wider work of the Financial Reporting and Control team.

You will be a results driven, collaborative team player, with good attention to detail and the ability and communication skills to build good working relationships at all levels across the BEIS family. You will be passionate about great public services and delivering on the BEIS objectives.

Job Related Professional Skills

Essential Skills and Experience:
 

  • Two years’ experience working in a treasury management or financial planning / forecasting role;

  • Experience of accounting and online banking systems;

  • Excellent Excel skills;

  • Good presentational skills.

 

Desirable Skills and Experience:

 

  • Experience of working in central government finance or treasury management.
