Welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS).

PDS works with the House of Commons and the House of Lords on their IT and digital needs.

UK Parliament is steeped in history and tradition. It is an important part of UK life and we need to ensure as many people as possible can engage with its work. This is why we are at the start of an exciting transformation programme powered by our people and technology.

For our people, we provide an amazing opportunity to bring their talents to an institution that sits right at the heart of society in the UK. We are helping to change UK Parliament and strengthen democracy. What matters here is your potential for growth and your commitment to playing your part in our ongoing success.

We are passionate about providing an environment which promotes inclusion, diversity, and equality. Regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, beliefs, or any of the other things that make you, you. We welcome applications from people who feel under-represented in the workforce. This includes those who may feel disadvantaged because of their socioeconomic circumstances.

The Director of Information Security is a new senior role and will play a critical role in managing the change process required to mature and evolve the information security capability for Parliament. The role will report to the Deputy Managing Director position within PDS, with a remit across the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The role will be responsible for leading on and implementing the enterprise information security programme. This will involve identifying, evaluating, and reporting on legal and regulatory, IT, and cybersecurity risk to information assets, while supporting and advancing business objectives.

You’ll develop an information security vision and strategy that is aligned to organisational priorities ensuring senior stakeholder buy-in and mandate.

Delivering this programme and developing information security capability aims to:

  • meet the needs of Members and their staff in fulfilling their parliamentary duties

  • enable the two administrations to provide effective procedural and information to support to the Chambers and Committees of both Houses

  • deliver accessible, accurate, open and timely data and information to the public and others with an interest in Parliament and the democratic process

This is a rare opportunity to add real value to a great public sector organisation. I am proud of the work we’ve done so far, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead to evolve digital services for Parliament.

If you have the energy and drive to be part of our journey, we’d love to hear from you.
