Welcome Letter
Thank you very much for expressing an interest in Brunel University London. As a recent arrival myself to this wonderful institution, I am aware how exciting embarking on a senior job application can be. Brunel is a strong and welcoming community of students and staff; we are committed to the highest standards in teaching and research across the wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses we offer.

I joined Brunel because of its ambition and plans for growth. It is growth centred around our core values of being Open and Honest; Fair and Inclusive; Determined and Focussed on Excellence and is encapsulated in our revitalised strategic plan, 2030 Vision. The plan includes a strengthened link to business; increased community engagement; deeper international partnerships; better organisation effectiveness and improved student attainment and research. Amongst many of the plans for the University, is the development and implementation of a new teaching and learning centre and a medical school, both providing leading edge facilities to students and staff.

The Finance Director, reporting into me, will be a high profile appointment within our Community. Managing a team of 40, the Finance Director will be responsible for monitoring the financial elements of the 2030 Vision and ensuring that the University achieves the targeted growth, enabling the substantial investment the University is making.

This is an exciting opportunity right if you are wanting a challenging yet rewarding role as your next move. If you are excited by our plans and ambition and would like to contribute your expertise, creativity and energy to a key, growth focused leadership role, I would be delighted to hear from you and look forward to seeing your application.

Yours Sincerely,

Andrew Murphy
Chief Finance Officer, Brunel University London
